Lp-Essential Johnny Cash

Before I returned to record collecting, I listened to Johnny Cash on CDs and loved it. I learned Columbia/Sony released 16 Most Requested on two record sets, and it is excellent. This was released in 2001 on CD and reissued on Lp in 2012. This collection has my favorites:

  • Hey Porter
  • Cry, Cry, Cry
  • I Walk the Line
  • There You Go
  • Ballad of a Teenage Queen
  • All Over Again
  • Don’t Take Your Guns to Town
  • Ring of Fire
  • Ballad of Ira Hayes
  • Daddy Sang Bass

The one song I wished this had was “Were You There When They Crucified My Lord” with June Carter. So powerful. Otherwise, this excellent record set will keep playing in your mind after you finish listening. This was purchased new, and it sounds magnificent.
