Another one of my favorite holiday albums from my grandparents was The Spirit of Christmas by the De Paul Chorus. This album differs from the Calypso Christmas since it has two programs, 1 per record side. Side A is “Spirit of Christmas” with classic carols and songs.
- Carol of the Bells
- White Christmas
- Mary, Mary. Where is Your Baby
- Mary’s Little Boy Chile
- I wonder as I Wander
- God Rest ye Merry Gentlemen
- Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming
- The Twelve Days of Christmas
- Silent Night
Side B is “God Is With Us’, filled with beautiful hymns
- Credo
- Dear Lord and Father of Mankind
- Rejoice Ye Pure in Heart
- The Lord’s Prayer
- God is Wiith Us
- Beautiful Savior
- Ave Marie
- O God Our Help in Ages Past
My aunt or uncle inherited this album but found a copy on Discog. The jacket is aged, and the record is good. Had some pops and a scratch, but the listening experience was excellent. Interestingly, this record is from Canada and has the beautiful Burgundy Columbia label from 1955.
