Lp Spiritual Christmas with Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas records

Growing up in a musical family, choir music is a big part of the family. My Gramma Peg (Mom’s Mom) was a church choir for years, and Papa (Mom’s Dad) sang in the choir. I still remember my grandparents and then my parents playing the different Christmas records from The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. In fact, one Christmas, my family drove from CA to MN and had to go through Utah, and we passed by the very location where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang their hurts out (and, yes, snow all over). These albums are perfect for December Sunday mornings and bring back many fond memories. One thing you should know is that some of the songs are recorded more than once, yet each recording is different and unique.

Christmas Carols Around The World (Mono-ML 5684-1961)

It offers a delightful musical journey celebrating Christmas’s universal joy and spirit through the unique melodies and traditions of different regions. The album beautifully captures the essence of this festive season, bringing together the voices of the renowned choir and the rich diversity of global holiday music.

This album features a beautiful rendition of the traditional carol, “The Holly and the Ivy.” With the choir’s enchanting voices, this song and other timeless classics create a magical and joyous atmosphere, perfect for celebrating the holiday season. Coincidentally, I mistakenly found this record when I was shopping with Mom at The Rizzoli Bookstore at South Coast Plaza in college. Mom and I never heard of this one, and I bought it.
